by Richard Sagala, Butler / Rolls-Royce Chauffeur
Today 25th of May is National Wine Day.
The situation: The bottle of Dom Pérignon is not cold and is needed urgently… Here is a trick from a certified Rolls-Royce chauffeur. You don’t own a Rolls-Royce (but own a fridge)? No problem use this method at home if a similar situation arises.
The Rolls-Royce scenario: while motoring towards a picnic site, ask a helper (not the chauffeur) to pour some water on a piece of linen, wrap it around the bottle, open the window and carefully stick it outside. Heat exchange will happen and you will have cold champagne upon arrival.

The situation: No ice? No time? and the urge to celebrate? Wrap a wet towel around the warm champagne bottle and put it in the freezer for ten minutes. Et voilà, it is faster than the ice bucket…
